Week 4 Saturday
Self-Study
It's as easy as 1-2-3. Review yesterday's lecture, prepare for tomorrow's lecture, and reflect on what did and not work for your today.
Here's a study plan to help you get started. Feel free to adjust it based on what does or does not work for you.
- Review (20 - 30 minutes)
- Learn (30 minutes - 1 hour)
- Reflect (5 - 10 minutes)
- Taking It Further (optional)
1. Review (20-30 minutes)
Begin your session by reviewing your reflection insights from yesterday and recapping key points from the last lecture. Review the lecture material to solidify your understanding before moving on to new concepts.
Choose at least one activity from those listed below.
Review Your Notes and Slides
Re-teach parts of the lesson to yourself using the lecture slides and your notes. Try to present the material in your own words as though you were teaching someone else.
Re-Watch Lectures
Watch the lectures again (perhaps at 1.5x speed)...following along with your notes. Hit pause and rewind when needed. Update your notes with new ideas, questions, vocab or relationships that you missed the first time. Pause between lectures and summarize the material in your own words before progressing.
3. Reflect (5- 10 minutes)
Take a moment to reflect on what you've learned. Consider how the new information connects to previous knowledge. Make some notes on material you want to review tomorrow and any changes you may make to your routine that would help improve your study.
Taking It Further (optional)
Want to dive deeper into the subject? This section offers supplementary materials: recommended readings; additional lectures; and potential projects/labs to extend your learning beyond the course. Explore these resources to enhance your understanding.
